What they are

The science museum is a fun place to go to discover the technologies of aircrafts to materials. With science dating back to the 1700, the science museum is a unique place to explore the different uses of science in the department of medicine, ICT and engineering by looking at historical artefacts and in their hands-on exhibits.

 

Opening times: 

The science museum opens every day except December 24th 25th and 26th from 10am- 6pm. On school holidays the museum opens at 10am- 7pm

Facilities:

There is so much to see and so much to do at the science museum!! There are over 300000 objects to look at and interactive hands-on gallery to explore, but if you want to discover science in a different way, there is an IMAX cinema with a variety of films and shows covering a range of topics relating to science.  There is also a gift shop and a couple of cafés to refuel after making your exciting scientific discoveries! 

Transport:

The science museum is a short walk from south Kensington station. There is a subway for pedestrians that leads into the main entrance of the museum.

 

There are so many buses that can get you to the science museum. Bus routes that can get you to South Kensington station (which is a 5 minute walk to the museum) are: 14, 49, 70, 345, 360, 414, 430 and C1. Or there are buses that get to Albert hall (which is 5 minute walk to the museum) which are: 9, 10, 52, 452 and 70

 

There are no car parking spaces provided by the museum but there are parking spaces around the museum. The nearest display bays are in Prince Consort Road and Queen’s Gate. There are a few disabled parking spaces outside the museum reserved for Blue Badge holders which are available for four hours between 08.30 and 18:30.

 

Barclay Cycle Hire stations are available near the museum on Queensgate Mews, prince Consort Road and Thurloe Place. There are also cycle routes that are printable from here
